Therapeutic effects of colour

Dawn's passion for all things colourful began around ten years ago, after visiting an alternative health fayre. Having taken the Lüscher Colour Test, devised by Prof Max Lüscher, a test for measuring a person's psychological state based on his or her colour preferences. The results were remarkably accurate and very specific on revealing existing situations, sources of stress, characteristics and desired objectives.

That same day, Dawn had an Aura Photograph taken of herself, which reveals the wash of colour that radiates from us, known as the electro magnetic field. Looking at the photo, surrounded by a mass of Magenta, Red and Orange was equally amazing as the previous test results. It was from this point that the designer's fascination for colour and the effect it has on us begun.

Having spent some time learning about colour therapy, Dawn found the use of colour in her work seemed a natural progression. "I think people are always interested in finding out about what their favourite colour actually reveals about them. I often get asked too, if I could suggest a colour to have a handbag made up in to feel less stressed or perhaps a piece of jewellery to feel more energetic? Treating yourself to a new handbag has to be the ultimate stress buster, right?!"

Another common question is of course, how does colour affect us? Well, when we look at a colour,  there is a bio chemical transformation within our cells, via our hormones that takes place. This has a huge effect on our physical well-being and emotions. The human body absorbs the entire colour spectrum. Often people don't realize that even the colour they wear acts as a filter which is also absorbed by the body and so has the ability to affect us. Colour is therefore able to transform all kinds of energy imbalances and to heal and regenerate the body on all levels, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
